raging-who: Granny Sally Chamberlin
During most of my life I’ve been anything but an activist, then along comes Bush. I distrusted him from the first time I read about him, but he scarred me to death after 9/11. My first Granny experience was going to Washington the fall before the Iraq war. Here was a group of women with whom I agreed, heart and soul, and an outlet for my frustration with a government that didn’t seem to know that anyone disagreed with its policies. I had a lifetime of civil rights to use and no time to waste. I have a grandson who would be old enough to go if the draft were reinstated. But it’s not just concern for my family. I feel that my country has been stolen, and it’s strength misused in the pursuit of false goals.
